Loveland CO Business Corporate Executive Headshot Photography

Yesterday, I had the privilege of meeting Tom in my studio for his business corporate headshot.  He was very friendly, easy to talk to, charismatic, and kind.  When we spoke a couple nights before the shoot, he explained that he recently learned how important business headshots were in the corporate world with the increasing importance of social media, i.e. www.linkedin.com.  Funny I just mentioned this in my previous post. I really enjoyed his enthusiasm and boy, was I glad he came prepared with different suits, shirts, ties, belt, cuff links, etc all dry-cleaned (except for the accessories of course)! We took time finding the best angle/pose/lighting.  Then I took some more time in postprocessing, choosing only the best images and editing them. And because of the time crunch, I made sure Tom got all of his images within 24 hours.

I love this last image of Tom.  Definitely my favorite. Thank you Tom for choosing Shoebox Stories Photography.

If you know anyone who needs any business, corporate, executive headshot, please be sure to send them our way.  Thank you all for your support!

Loveland CO High School Senior Portrait Photography

The makeup artist, Tara Schaeffer, and I teamed up again for another senior model shoot yesterday to promote our senior portrait photography services.

Meet McKenzie

Stunning.

She's a freshman at Loveland High School and is honestly one of the prettiest girls I've ever met. Super funny, easy to talk to, and down to earth. She's a cheerleader both at Loveland High and Rocky Mountain Cheer and Dance Company so she showed me a few moves that I always wished I had when I was a cheerleader myself.  Hah

All of us planned to do the studio first then go outdoors to shoot during the golden hours.  I personally was elated to finally have a warm day in the 50s.  Literally 10 minutes before makeup started, the wind started to pick up.  Ugh!  Gotta love that fickle Colorado weather!  I secretly prayed that it would die down as we were getting ready.  McKenzie and her mom, Nicola, brought over great outfits to work with and we even picked out 4-5 different ones for the shoot.  The studio shoot was awesome.

To no avail, the wind didn't go away. But I insisted (sorry ladies) that we still try outdoors.  :)  So Tara and I picked out one warm outfit for McKenzie to catch the glowing sun.  The wind was so strong and everything was muddy and slippery. Despite getting whipped around by the wind and getting her feet sunken in through the mud,  McKenzie was a trooper. We called it a wrap in about 15 min (maybe a little longer).  She looked stunning with everything glowing in the background just as I'd hoped for.

Absolutely S.T.U.N.N.I.N.G.

When we got back and we resumed the studio shoot with one more outfit change.

McKenzie that was so much fun! I'm glad that we got to work together!

Class of 2015. Book now to reserve your spot.

Loveland CO Business Corporate Headshot Photography

Another fun day of headshot photo shoot. I got to work with this gorgeous lady, Amber.  She is one of the funniest people I know.  Today during the shoot, she admitted that she "hated" taking pictures.  Let's face it.  Girls have it hard regardless of how beautiful they are. I too am very camera shy and critical of the way I look in photos.  But I am working on changing that.  Time is too precious and we're not getting any younger, right? Haha all jokes aside... Amber, I hope you love these photos as much as I do.  You're so gorgeous both inside and out and I hope I did justice to portray that about you. Thanks for trusting me. :)

Loveland CO Business Corporate Executive Headshot Photography

Wow. Today's shoot was whole lot of fun.  It was probably because Bryan was so much fun to hang out with.  And there were moments where we couldn't stop laughing because some of the headshot poses I was making him do he said felt too awkward for him.  And I can totally see it in his face. Hahaha ;)  Posing for a photo shoot is definitely not easy (unless you were formally trained as a model). And it's even harder to look natural in them.  But after just a few tries, Bryan looked like he'd been doing this for a while and making a living being a model.  I mean, right?  My favorite part was watching Bryan being pleasantly surprised by how good those poses looked when I showed him few images from back of my camera. It was definitely team work and we were able to convey Bryan at his best.

Loveland CO Business Corporate Portrait Headshot Photography

Why hire a professional photographer to do your business corporate headshot?

My friend, Dan, allowed me to share his previous headshot of him done by someone else:

And these are mine from last night:

The previous one was done professionally and it's not bad.  But I think the biggest difference between the two is that you can see his personality in the images I took of him.  Dan and I spent a significant amount of time during the shoot looking for his best angle/lighting and poses that convey him (his professionalism, confidence, friendliness, and trustworthiness).  As I mentioned in my previous post, these are essential in headshots.  Taking the pictures was the fast part!  Culling through the images from the shoot and narrowing them down to the very best ones is where the real time is invested.  Spending more time on editing the selected images to make them the most appealing they can be is the key.

Thanks Dan for letting me share! For more headshots, check out http://www.lovelandphotography.net/#/page/4ee9/headshots/

Business Corporate Headshots are Critical Loveland CO Photography

How important are headshots for your business? Let me start off by saying that first impressions are everything.  There are several articles written in social psychology regarding our nature to prefer someone over someone else simply by their appearance.  This means that as a business, you may have gained or lost business simply by your headshot or a lack thereof.

With the growth of social media, the importance of headshots have grown as well.  People who are potential employers and customers/clients take shortcuts in their brain (mostly unintentionally) and try to understand your personality through that one single shot of yours, i.e. how friendly, confident, and trustworthy you are.   A headshot is able to place your face with your name, which can jump start establishing relationships.

To achieve this, your best bet is to hire a professional photographer who is able to capture you in the best light.

Loveland CO Business Corporate Headshot and Senior Portrait Photography

I wasn't sure if the guys I know would be as willing to help me out with the business headshot portfolio.  I knew it requires a lot and I personally would shy away from doing one myself...but thank GOD I have great friends.  Haha! Our worship pastor and a friend, Josh, was such a great sport and he even wore a tie for me!

Your continued support is greatly appreciated and please help me spread the word about our high school senior portrait and business headshot services. Thanks!

So Amber, his wife (yes, he's married), told me that he was jokingly practicing his zoolander pose the night before the shoot.  And of course, I had to capture them.  LOL! Thank you again!!! That was so much fun. :)
