Mother's Day Studio Portrait Special Loveland Fort Collins CO

Motherhood

This quote sums it up: "Being a mother means that your heart is no longer yours; it wanders wherever your children do."   -author unknown

And like what the video that recently went viral, "World's Toughest Job," said, motherhood has been the most rewarding yet the toughest job ever.  There is no other job that can compare to it.  It's true, mothers are not perfect. There are days we get tired, impatient, irritable, frazzled, but what a smile or a laughter of our child(ren) can do to make all the sacrifice worth it. The Lord knows how grateful I am for the precious gift He has given me. So if for some reason you haven't said "thank you" to your mom recently, be sure to say it.  It'll make her heart happy. Husbands, don't forget to thank your wives too.

And what moms don't want to take pictures with their kids and hang it on the wall? Haha I'm offering 40% off for 1 hr studio portrait session. So give your mom/wife this incredible experience and the photos to forever remember the love she has for you.

Business Corporate Headshot Photographer Loveland Fort Collins Windsor Northern CO

Yesterday, Angie stopped by my studio for a headshot for work. A bit shy in the beginning but I had a blast getting to know her. She is so sweet, funny, and easy to talk to.  By the end of the shoot, it was as if she was reading my mind!

Prior to the shoot during our consultation, Angie asked for a recommendation for a professional hair stylist and I, of course, referred her to Jen Moody from Just Teazin Hair.  To show the difference between the professional hair/makeup and nonprofessional one, here is the "before" picture in Angie's daily work hair/makeup.

And here is my favorite image after hair/makeup before my edit and after my edit

Doesn't she look stunning? Angie is naturally gorgeous but the hair and makeup adds the finishing touch to really make the image stand out. Jen did her magic yet again and I couldn't be happier. :)

Then it was show time and Angie rocked it.  So natural in front of the camera. Half way through the shoot, it was as if she was reading my mind. When I wanted her to turn her face or lean forward, she did it the exactly the way I was thinking it. HAHA One of the easiest shoots ever! Thanks Angie!

As mentioned before, when the shoot is done, I postprocess each image that I choose for all of my headshot and high school senior clients.  I spend a significant time enhancing the features, i.e. skin, eyes, etc. And here is the final product on the right. Angie looks so professional, inviting, personable/approachable, and absolutely gorgeous. If I were her potential client and only knew her from the headshot, I would definitely put her on my safe to call list on a rainy day if I needed help. :)

High Quality Unforgettable Experience High School Senior Portrait Business Headshot Photography Loveland CO

Today, I got a good laugh when I saw this from a photographer, Jeremy Cowart, Facebook post:

When I do a photo shoot, not only do I use high quality, professional grade equipment, I also spend a significant time editing to make sure my clients look their very best. Getting your picture taken this close up is a vulnerable process (I totally understand) but I don't want it to be the reason why my clients can't enjoy the photos of themselves.  I want them to have this once in a life time experience looking and feeling great, being confident, and loving their images. For all my seniors and headshot clients, I post-process each image, enhancing their beautiful features, i.e. the skin, eyes, hairs, etc. (with a hint of my editing style.) Check out these before and after photos of my model, Elizabeth.

So just because you get a "good deal" or a photographer you know little about has a "better deal," doesn't mean you should automatically book that photographer.  The old adage goes, "A picture is worth a thousand words..."  Make your pictures count and go with quality over just a bargain.  You will thank yourself in the future!

I couldn't be happier about the model shoot I had with one of the most talented hair/makeup artist, Jeni Moody from Just Teazing Hair in Fort Collins, and beautiful Morgan from Loveland High School Class of 2016.  Jeni started the makeup and hair about an hour before the shoot and stayed with us on location to help fix wind blown hair, change up the lipstick colors and the hair with the wardrobe change, and even assist me with the reflector. :D We came back to the studio for the prom shoot and Jeni put an oomph to Morgan's makeup/hair.  Jeni was so amazing to work with and girls be sure to call her for your prom hair/makeup.

Morgan Morgan Morgan!  So adorable, soft spoken, easy going, and G.O.R.G.E.O.U.S. I was obsessed with these photos I stayed up all night and spent the whole day today editing them.  LOL Thank you all for allowing me to work with you gals and I really couldn't be happier!
