Class of 2015 Loveland High School | High School Senior Portrait Photographer | Loveland/Fort Collins/Northern CO

Alyssa | Class of 2015 | Loveland High School

Alyssa and I have been planning her senior portrait session for months. And it couldn't have turned out better.  First, we started with hair/makeup by Jeni from Just Teazin Hair. We chatted away as we were getting ready.

Our behind the scene pictures in my studio with my iPhone:

All ready for the studio shoot!

Alyssa wanted to make sure we incorporate her trumpet and cheer uniform so we decided to use them for the studio shots.

And few shots without the trumpet b/c the dress looked FABULOUS on her.

In her cheer uniform:

Then we headed out to downtown Loveland to get wardrobe styling done by Kali from Vintage Willows, 202 E. 4th St. Loveland, CO (Alyssa already visited Kali at the store a week before to pick out her wardrobe).  After a quick change, we met up with my awesome assistant, Marissa. Then Alyssa, Jeni, Marissa, and I walked down the street to capture these photos.  Jeni came on location to help fix Alyssa's hair while Marissa held the reflector for me.

With our powers combined, Jeni, Marissa, and I made Alyssa laugh. :)

Then off to another location.  For a different look, Jeni put the braid in front of Alyssa's hair and refreshened her makeup.

The photo above is one of my favs and just made it on 20x30 canvas. SO AWESOME!

After 5 1/2 hours, we wrapped our photo shoot.  We heard thunder from the storm rolling in a few miles away so it was a good time to head out.

Once I got home, the real work began.  After spending about 30 hrs of post processing, the images were finally ready for our in-person viewing and we set up our appointment.  Alyssa, her mom, Jan, and her dad, Bob, came to see and we. had. a. BLAST!  They LOVED the images. YAY! Jan teared up as soon as the slideshow began which also made me tear up and we joked about how she was going to manage at Alyssa's wedding in the future. It was such a difficult decision but they narrowed down the images that were to be printed (the images above).  Then the products arrived in 4 business days (woot!) and Alyssa came to pick them up.  Her words, "I LOVE THEM ALL!" Then later, I got this message from Jan:

               Sandra,

The album, the prints, and the canvas were absolutely beautiful! The whole Senior picture experience could not have
been more perfect! In fact, I already need to order more  prints!

This made me so happy I was all smiles ear to ear.  Thank you Alyssa, Jan, Bob, Jeni, Kali, and Marissa.

Portrait Photographer | Loveland, Fort Collins, Northern CO

Katie emailed me a few weeks ago inquiring about a portrait session. She was looking for a photographer and saw my portfolio on my website. She explained that she wasn't a high school senior but a simple country girl who is also in the military.

After getting to know her via email, we decided to go for an on location photo shoot late in the afternoon. It got a little unnerving as dark stormy clouds moved in and lingered until 4:30 pm. It rained heavily and I was obsessed with checking the satellite view on the Weather Channel App on my phone.  But just like how it poured out of nowhere, the clouds lifted right before the shoot and it was gorgeous.

My adorable assistant Jane and I met Katie on location. As I was getting to know her, I couldn't believe how amazing this woman is. She's in the Air Force, studying radiology and working a full-time job (just got a promotion on top of it!). Her story was very empowering, especially for young women. Little did I know she has a disabled brother. You can tell how much she loves him and what she would do for him. Truly amazing and I am so glad to have photographed this beautiful woman. Thank you Katie!  You're so inspiring.

Last but not least, this is the text message I got from Katie:

This made my day.
